I like to read grand battles where things I don’t know enough about the genre to be able to determine the target audience for this book, so I’m reviewing it from the perspective of a 30 year old guy who asked for a suggestion for some light reading. She is Dweia, sister to The Gods and a greater thief even than Althalus. I would have to say nearly all of it’s flaws come into play because it is one book, but with enough ideas to last for two or three. Finally, the queen agrees to sell the other slaves along with Eliar.

Not only are the dialogues weird at times, they’re very mashed together. My opinion on Eddings is not positive at redemptiln, i think he is pretty much a waste of time.

The most aggravating of all the dealings is probably the last, where time travel is used and makes you ask: Inspired by Your Browsing History. Still, he feels slight remorse at having to trick a man he respects, not enough remorse not to trick him but still.
There is so little ever shown that by the end of the book I was still left unsure as to exactly what the god’s books were – did they house the respective god’s the redemption of althalus or essence? The group decides to travel back to the House at the end of the world.

There are no surprises view spoiler [ for instance, wouldn’t it have been awesome with the witch had fancied Althalus and therefore opposed Dweia? They defeat the enemy at every turn with very little effort, almost like a kid killing ants with a magnifying glass.
Furious, Althalus steals all the brass coins and leaves — only to become chased by every man in the fort, its owner taking advantage of the situation to claim the theft of a non-existent fortune. Over explains it, of course, and then everyone spends ten lines musing over it the exact same way every fucking time and then congratulating him on how clever he is. They continue to pretty easily hold off the idiotic assaults of the enemy, retreating to a conveniently placed mountain for no reason other than to really beat it into the villain’s heads that they are absolutely as stupid as they act.

I know Dweia is supposed to be some kind of goddess of fertility and creation, but damn, that was so in your face that you might as well sprout flowers on your head hide spoiler ]. A number of capers end without much monetary reward for kf, until he stumbles into a shrine built to the fertility goddess Dweia.
